Are Colon Cleansing Enemas Safe?

The earliest forms of enema were actually hazardous to one’s health. The earliest form of enema had metal nozzles. Metal, as you are well aware, is a very strong material. These metal enemas helped in colon cleansing but they were dangerous. They were known to puncture or make a hole or wound in the colon. Aside from the materials of these enemas, the solutions used were also harmful. They included mineral oils and chemicals that were not good for the body.
As years passed, making enemas safer was given a priority. Enemas with plastic nozzles were introduced. There are now even safer enemas with silicon nozzles. Safer and less toxic solutions were also used. There are now no solutions with mineral oils and chemicals. Solutions these days contain nothing but water-based ingredients.
