Is Grapefruit Good For You?
We keep hearing it all the time “eat more fresh fruits and vegetables” or “you need to lead a healthier lifestyle” but what types should you eat. The Grapefruit was at one time deemed the super food of it’s time in the mid eighties it was used by people who wanted to lose a few pounds here and there. Many nutritionists of the day claimed that it was a fad and that the grapefruit was nothing particularly special.
Fast forward twenties years and they are now being made to eat their own words. Modern scientists have shown that the grapefruit is full of valuable nutrition and can help with your health in various ways. Being rich in much needed vitamins and minerals.
Grapefruits have always been known to to be high in Vitamin C, this has been shown to help boost our immune system and is particularly good at fighting the symptoms of people suffering with colds. It is high in fiber which helps with transit times of your digestive system helping to clean it out. Grapefruits have also been shown to have a good level of antioxidant’s which with modern scientific studies have been shown to help our bodies to clean itself. There is no where near the levels of antioxidant’s that are found in fruit like Acai berries for example but they do exist in Grapefruits.




I heard people say in the fruit shop that garapefruit JUICE is bad for you. Is It?? and if sa why?
Any kind of juice is worse than the actual fresh fruit. This is because almost all juices are packed with sugar to make it taste good. If you really want to drink it check the ingredients on the back if sugar is one of the first few it’s bad. Also be wary of alias of sugar such as syrups and molases. If you really want to drink the fruit get a juicer and make some homemade grapefruit juice. It’ll be much healither if you know what you’re putting into it.
