The Common Benefits Of Green Tea
The Chinese have known about the amazing health benefits in Green Tea for many thousands of years. They have used Green Tea to treat anything from headaches to personality disorders. Recent research in Asia as well as in the United States is just beginning to tap all the nutritive benefits that can be derived from Green Tea. Scientists are claiming that it can inhibit the growth of cancerous cells as well as being able to balance LDL and HDL cholesterols in the blood.
There is a substance in Green Tea called EGCG which is an extremely powerful antioxidant. In fact many researchers and scientists claim that it is even more potent than Resveratrol which is the substance in red wine that is responsible for the “French Paradox.” It has long been known that the French eat diets extremely high in fat yet have less coronary heart disease than the United States, for instance. If EGCG is even more efficient at lowering LDL cholesterols than Resveratrol, it is nothing short of miraculous.
Antioxidants are known to inhibit the damage which free radicals do to our systems. EGCG is thought to be responsible for the low rate of cancer in Japanese men even though at least 75% of them are known to be smokers. Those are amazing statistics.
While it is dangerous to claim that any substance can thwart the onset of cancer, IF it can be done then EGCG is the substance that could do it. The jury is still out and there is so much research yet to be done, but what has been discovered to date has made Green Tea by far one of the most beneficial nutraceuticals available today.
