Why Is Wine Good For You?
For years people have been saying that wine in small quantities is good for you, but there was no evidence of why this was so or what was good about it. A recent study undertaken in to what has been deemed the “French Paradox” has shown that there is a direct link between wine and better health.
So what is the French paradox? The French in general have a diet which is very high in saturated fats due to the high quantities of red meat and matured cheeses that they eat. A similar diet to that of it’s neighbours the English but it’s neighbours generally have higher rates of heart disease and obesity amongst there population. For years no one could understand this, but this research has shown a link to the amount of alcohol they drink made from grapes in particular the red grapes red wine etc..
It is said that red wine holds a high level of antioxidant’s the have been shown to help clear toxins from our bodies. In particular fat particles in our blood and to help breakdown fat in our bodies. Although red wine does hold high levels of these antioxidant’s there are other ways to get antioxidant’s for example the Acai berry from Brazil holds up to thirty time more than that found in red wine.
This doesn’t mean that you need to go out and drink excessive amounts of it thinking it will help you, moderation with so many things is called for.
